Yes it's cheap enough so use it in place or with your daily beauty routine. Get a jar especially for this reason. I have a tiny metal spoon I use to dip into the oil. I like to keep my oil in the fridge so it's solid when I go to use it. I heat up my metal spoon and dip into the oil and then melt it in my hands. A little bit goes a long way. Do it just after your shower. Wait for it to absorb into skin and then apply makeup etc.
Oh my god. Lice seem to be rampant these days. Here's one for all you parents out there struggling with this. If you've had an issue with these blood sucking creatures. Put coconut oil into your arsenal. Coconut oil suffocates the damn things and makes it harder for them to get a grip on the hair shaft to lay their eggs. Give them the heave ho. Coat hair thoroughly with coconut oil. Cover with shower cap/towel and leave for a few hours. Comb hair to get rid of dead lice and eggs. Shampoo and condition hair. Massage oil into dry hair. Cover with shower cap/towel and leave overnight. Comb hair to get rid of lice and eggs. Shampoo/condition hair. Repeat 1-2 times weekly to be effective. Also if you have the patience and trust me it's well worth it. Sit you child under a lamp. That way you'll be able to see where the nits are if there are any left. Nit pick with your fingers. Take time on each part of the head. If your child has long hair, consider tiny plaits to indicate where you've been. Well worth the effort. Makes the hair shiny and soft too. Pick up coconut oil at the supermarket or try this Raw Cold Pressed Coconut Oil from Global Organics.
